What we collect, and what happens to it.
Short version: a contact form that emails us, and Google Analytics that counts visits. We do not sell anything to anyone. Last updated 2 August 2026.
Who we are
Tradewinds Web is a sole proprietorship based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, operated by George Alkabalan. You can reach us at hello@tradewindsweb.ca or (902) 330-1844.
What we collect
When you fill in a form on this site. Whatever you type into it. Usually your name, email address, phone number, your website address, and anything you write in the message box. We only ever get what you choose to put in.
When you browse this site. Google Analytics records which pages were visited, roughly where in the world the visit came from, what browser and device was used, and which site you arrived from. It does not tell us who you are.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment details, identity documents, or any sensitive personal information through this website.
Where it goes
Form submissions are delivered by a service called Web3Forms, which passes them to our email inbox. They pass through Web3Forms on the way to us.
Site usage data goes to Google Analytics, a Google service.
Those two are the only third parties involved. Both of them store data on servers outside Canada, which means it is subject to the laws of the country it sits in.
What we do with it
We use what you send us to reply to you, quote work, and do the job if you hire us. We use the analytics to see whether anyone is actually reading the site.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in a contact form.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as they are useful, and client records stay for as long as we are working together plus a reasonable period afterwards for tax and business records. If you want yours removed sooner, ask and we will remove it.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own, which is how it counts a repeat visit as the same visit rather than two. If you would rather it did not, most browsers let you block cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics entirely.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email hello@tradewindsweb.ca and we will deal with it. There is no form to fill in and we will not make it difficult.
If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Client websites we build
When we build a website for a client, that business is responsible for the information its own visitors submit, and it has its own privacy policy. This page covers tradewindsweb.ca only.
Changes
If this changes we will change this page and update the date at the top. We will not quietly rewrite it and pretend it always said that.
